Reggie Swickard, Pedorthist from Foot Focus, spoke to our support group about proper foot care and how to choose the right footwear, especially for those of us who wear prosthetic legs on November 26th. She even brought samples of shoes (from Roderer Shoe Center) for us to see what to look for in choosing proper and safe footwear!
Ms. Swickard began her career with five years of technical training with LaForsch Orthopedic learning the art of making orthotics. She spent the next six years at Fidelity Orthopedic where she saw patients and fit orthotics. She earned her certification as a C-Ped in 1997 and spent time with diabetic patients while working in the Miami Valley Foot Clinic.
Her education and experience has given her a solid background in identifying foot problems, fabricating custom orthotics, gait analysis and working with the public. Ms. Swickard opened Foot Focus in February 2002. She participates in area wellness events and provides in-service educational training for physician office staff when requested.
