Action Prosthetics invites you to celebrate Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month from April 1-30, 2024! More than 5.6 million Americans are living with limb loss and limb difference, based on a recently published study: 5.6 Million++ Americans are Living with Limb Loss and Limb Difference: New Study Published – Amputee Coalition (amputee-coalition.org). Limb loss and limb difference affects people of all backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, genders, races, ages, and other demographics. During April, we want to demonstrate how our community thrives and how you can participate.
Today, we are highlighting our amazing patient, Ron Widener (pictured with our Office Manager, Pam Aukerman). He has been a left above knee amputee since June – 1973. He lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. When asked what advice he would give to a new amputee, he said:
“Get up and go! Keep moving!”
