All Great Things Must Come to an End!

We recently said goodbye to our summer intern, Mary Burk.  Mary, the daughter of our Prosthetist-Owner, Karl Burk, is following in her Dad’s footsteps!  She will be attending O&P school at the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics which is located in Tampa, Florida. The program is 18 months long, and is followed by a two-year residency period, where she will work under the supervision of a certified orthotist/prosthetist.

Mary had a very special project this summer.  She made our Patient Liaison’s (Molly Null) new below knee prosthetic legs!  Under the direction of her Dad, Mary went through the entire process from casting, lamination, fabrication and final fittings with Molly.  Molly is thrilled with her new prosthetics look and fit and she is so very proud of Mary!  What an incredible learning opportunity for Mary before attending O&P school!

We wish Mary the best at O&P school; we know she’s going to do great!
