Action Prosthetics was honored to host an Amputee Coalition Peer Visitor Training class on Saturday, June 22nd!

The Amputee Coalition’s Certified Peer Visitors are trained volunteers who provide information and support for individuals about to undergo an amputation or who currently have limb loss/difference.  There are three categories of peer visitors:
1.  A person with limb loss or limb difference
2.  A family member of a person with limb loss or limb difference
3.  Military / VA : an individual with current or previous military or VA experience who is living with limb loss or limb difference

Becoming a Certified Peer Visitor involves completing an 8-hour training course offered at one of the Amputee Coalition’s hospital or rehab partners or in conjunction with a support group.  All participants are also required to successfully complete a background check.

Action Prosthetics happily provided breakfast, snacks and lunch for all attendees as well.

Congratulations to our new Certified Peer Visitors who are helping to pay it forward!
