Action Prosthetics invites you to celebrate Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month from April 1-30, 2024! More than 5.6 million Americans are living with limb loss and limb difference, based on a recently published study: 5.6 Million++ Americans are Living with Limb Loss and Limb Difference: New Study Published – Amputee Coalition (amputee-coalition.org). Limb loss and limb difference affects people of all backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, genders, races, ages, and other demographics. During April, we want to demonstrate how our community thrives and how you can participate.
Today, we are highlighting our amazing patient, Matt Moody (pictured with our Prosthetist, Karl Burk). He has been a right below knee amputee since November – 2021. Matt’s amputation was the result of over 10 years of surgeries after an ankle injury. When asked what advice he would give to a new amputee, he said:
“Gotta do it on your own! No one can do it for you – MOVE!”
