Meet Josh…  A True Limb Loss Success Story!

Josh Miniard has had Type 1 Diabetes since he was 4 years old. Because of challenges he faced from this disease, he became a right below-knee amputee on September 18th, 2016. He chose Action Prosthetics from a referral from his podiatrist.
After many years of dealing with leg infections and complications which led to his amputation, Josh recently went back to school and obtained his Ohio Insurance License. He now works full time as a life insurance agent for Lincoln Heritage Insurance out of Greenville, Ohio. Thankfully, with his prosthesis, Josh can work 40+ hour weeks!
Josh is also able to get back to his favorite place- doing anything outdoors! He loves being active with his family and playing with his Godchildren, Clarissa and Cameron. Josh likes to play darts with his friends, and he has a passion for skydiving as well! Yes, he keeps his prosthesis ON when he sky dives! His favorite sky-diving partner is his brother, Eddie, who currently is serving in the United States Army stationed at Fort Leonard Wood.
Josh recently worked with Karl (Burk, Prosthetist) to switch to an elevated vacuum suspension system socket with an energy-storing College Park Soleus high activity foot. Josh loves the fit of this new prosthesis and says he has much less pain which we are thrilled about. He likes that his prosthesis allows him to do everyday life activities – all day long!
When asked if Jim would recommend Action Prosthetics, he said, “Oh, yes! Karl (Burk, Prosthetist) has helped me get my life back on track! If it weren’t for Action Prosthetics, I wouldn’t be where I am in life right now. I never expected a staff to give me so much help and dedication to make sure I had a good fit from my prosthesis. Action Prosthetics is a God-Send!”
We are so proud that Josh has been tirelessly volunteering to help with the clean-up process in Dayton from the recent Memorial Day tornados. He has truly not let limb loss stop him from living a full life and giving back to those in need. Josh is a member of the A.C.T.I.O.N. Amputee Group as well!
